cast of characters

Lani and Ann are the Weaver sisters!

Lani's household consists of Steve, the long-suffering coding genius and computer security guru; Jim, Lani's tall, red-headed and handsome son, currently finishing his second year of college; Hunter, Jasmine, Himari, Chenault, the miraculous Onyx and the even more miraculous Resk, undisputed feline rulers of the house; and Jesse, the man-hating green-cheeked conure.

Ann's household consists of Don, who is not just a computer genius but a pilot, a builder, and a damn good father; their son Steve, the marathon-running, college-bound, funniest teenager I know; and wonder dog Tater.

Other family members are Laurie, Lani's beautiful daughter who teaches at elementary levels; her handsome son Alex, aka Alexander the Great; Mary and Bo, a/k/a Mom and Dad, and Bud and Ann, Steve's patient and wonderful parents.

Grrrrrrr (posted by Ann)

I'm at the Greensboro Airport, waiting. And waiting. And waiting.

Sitting on the floor, next to a power plug. Not exactly comfortable.

No knitting, no needlepoint, nothing to do but read yesterday's USA Today.

Three hour delay minimum because of weather in Chicago.

Don says there is one cloud over O'Hare, and that we might experience dew.

Grrrrrr.

The FAA says:
Due to WEATHER/ENROUTE and WEATHER/ENRTE, there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving Chicago OHare International Airport, Chicago, IL (ORD). This is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 2 hours and 22 minutes. To see if you may be affected, select your departure airport and check "Delays by Destination".
That dew. It can really wreak some havoc.

And oh, ugh. Following up on the last sentence there and checking Greensboro gives me this:
Due to WEATHER/ENRTE, departure traffic destined to Chicago OHare International Airport, Chicago, IL (ORD) will not be allowed to depart until at or after 8:30 pm EDT.
Go have dinner. And a drink. Or two.

Meanwhile, I'm in PWM and it's very nice. I was in YOW yesterday and it was hot. More on that later.
