India (posted by Ann)
This place is noisy, crowded, hectic, interesting, beautiful . . . . something different every minute. Never boring!
I took a drive from Bangalore to Mysore, and saw Mysore Palace and a temple. On the drive we stopped to get something to drink and I had coconut water. They take green coconuts and cut the top off and stick in a straw - it's very refreshing, and there is a lot of liquid. Then when you've finished the liquid they cut it in half and you can eat the coconut meat that is being formed - it's a gelatinous consistency. I took a video of the man who cut the coconuts open for us. I checked to see if he had all his fingers and miraculous as it seems he does. Incredible.
Sorry that the video is sideways, I can't figure out how to fix it so you'll just have to tilt your head!
Here are a few other pictures - it's quite an experience being here, and I am grateful for the opportunity to see this part of the world even if I am getting really ready to go home. Two weeks down, one to go. I'll be home in less than a week. Don - please note the cow in the garbage. That one is for Tater!
