cast of characters

Lani and Ann are the Weaver sisters!

Lani's household consists of Steve, the long-suffering coding genius and computer security guru; Jim, Lani's tall, red-headed and handsome son, currently finishing his second year of college; Hunter, Jasmine, Himari, Chenault, the miraculous Onyx and the even more miraculous Resk, undisputed feline rulers of the house; and Jesse, the man-hating green-cheeked conure.

Ann's household consists of Don, who is not just a computer genius but a pilot, a builder, and a damn good father; their son Steve, the marathon-running, college-bound, funniest teenager I know; and wonder dog Tater.

Other family members are Laurie, Lani's beautiful daughter who teaches at elementary levels; her handsome son Alex, aka Alexander the Great; Mary and Bo, a/k/a Mom and Dad, and Bud and Ann, Steve's patient and wonderful parents.

Things that fly (posted by Ann)

Or, I should say, things that will fly after years of hard work.

Don's airplane was delivered this weekend. We needed help with the unloading, so we called the Warrens. Tim and Ann came over, and Ann brought a bottle of champagne to toast the occasion. It required some work to get the airplane off the trailer, and into the garage/airplane hanger. Here's all the action.

Please note that the champagne was served on the tractor. Very classy, no?
To redeem myself, I made Beef Burgundy for dinner tonight and Steve polished his plate in about 30 seconds. He's decided that the French have the food thing down pat.
Please note that we actually have a picture of Don smiling. He's pretty happy to finally have the plane here.
I have lots more to tell, as you might imagine since I haven't exactly been posting a lot lately (cough, cough). I'll save it, though, since the plane should take main billing.
Are you thawing out? Still frozen? Do you think spring will ever come?
